Worksop, though a town with an industrial heritage, is surrounded by beautiful countryside that includes Sherwood Forest, the National Trust-run Clumber Park, and the Dukeries, various estates at one time owned by Dukes. On a more human scale the town also has Mr Straw’s House, the intriguing property left unchanged by the brothers who lived there from the 1930s until the 1990s. Because of its central position and good road network Worksop has attracted many new businesses of late, and is a prime location for distribution depots. For a medium-sized town Worksop has good artistic facilities in the Acorn Theatre and the Regal.
